Focus VR - 1st place innovation hack ucsc

Jan 2016

Focus VR was a hackathon project developed for Hack UCSC, a 72 hour hackathon hosted by University of California, Santa Cruz. Our team of five created a customizable and distraction free study space, based on cognitive science research fundamentals, to create an optimal study environment. Users were able to upload PDFs and write on them using a pencil that was tracked by the Leap Motion mounted on the headset. We won 1st place overall in the Innovation category, receiving funding to continue development.

My Responsibilities Included:

  • UX Design and interaction for users

  • 3D environment design for ideal focus and attention

  • Implementing Cognitive Science research methods

  • Management of team // Team morale booster
